3D Modeling and Animation Project- Fox

For a school portfolio project, I modeled, textured, rigged, and animated a small creature running. The programs used were Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter and After Effects.

I started with hard surface modeling the head and body in Maya.

After getting the base model finished, i took the OBJ into Zbrush to refine the shape and get something much more organic.

After refining the model, I remeshed it to get a good animation edge flow.

After getting the mesh finished, I started getting the UVs made. I used Zbrush to direct the edge flow and Maya to scale them for more detail around the face.

It took a few times to get the design I wanted, but eventually, I settled on this.

After getting the controls made, I colored them so I could easily tell the difference between left, right, and middle.

I simply found a decent gif off the internet and used that as a base reference as I started animating.
